white white white…

Beauty is only skin-deep. The real beauty lies deep down your personality. Dig it out, and find your self-dignity, and announce it loud and clear!

The definition of beauty in common sense is to have a slim body shape, clear and smooth skin, soft and silky hair, along with stylish, designer label if possible, haute-couture dress. All ayes are on you. You’re the spotlight of the crowd. Most women hungered for this kind of attention, which drives them to be more and more aware of their looks.

This is the reality a woman has to face, all over the world. The image of a beautiful self preached throughout every single aspects of life. For me personally, I’m sick and tired of all this bull. A lot of advertisement nowadays in Indonesia has lots and lots of beauty-derived products, all of which has shown parades of beautiful women with promises of instant result after weeks of product usage.

What I’m about to focus here is the promotion of a certain product label that has a completely out of sense promise. With their supermarket brand products, you can be beautiful and get the guy you want. This is an absolute insult to both men and women, by generalizing the quest of love into some sort of beauty-contest mockery.

Every human being in this universe is beautiful, no matter how imperfect their bodies are. The difference between a beautiful person and an ugly person lies with the personality.

To producers, cosmetics company, the brain behind all those ads, please consider another way to promote your products. You can promote healthy skin, but don’t generalize ‘white’ image into the minds of every single women. Do you really expect every single women in Indonesia, the world even, to be in the same image? White?
